Distance Control Unit, Single Pump

The Avanti Distance Control Unit (DCU) is a remote float switch relay designed to control water levels in dams, reservoirs and tanks over long distances. It converts a simple float switch signal into a 24V DC output that can be run up to 4km away using standard 1.5mm copper wire, making it suitable for borehole users, farmers, property managers and installers who need to start or stop a single pump from a float positioned far from the control panel.

Installation & Compatibility Notes

• Confirm your supply voltage (230V AC or 400V AC) before ordering — this determines whether you need the A-DCU-M or A-DCU-Q variant.
• Decide whether your application needs simple 2-wire float on/off control or 3-wire separate start/stop float control, and wire accordingly using the terminal layout supplied with the unit.
• The float circuit operates at 24V DC — do not connect mains voltage directly to the float terminals.
• Keep float cable runs within the 4km maximum using 1.5mm copper wire.
• Installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician.
