Nylon Insert Coupling – Barbed Poly Pipe Joiner, 12mm to 80mm, Class 3 & 6 LDPE

The Nylon Insert Coupling is a straight barbed joiner for connecting two lengths of Class 3 or Class 6 low-density polyethylene (LDPE) poly pipe. Both ends are barbed and push into the pipe bore – the barbs grip the pipe and create a secure, leak-resistant connection without clamps or solvent. Available from 12mm to 80mm to suit the most common poly pipe sizes used in South African irrigation and water reticulation systems.

Installation & Compatibility Notes

Select the size that matches your poly pipe internal bore. On larger sizes (40mm and above), heating the pipe end slightly or using a mallet makes insertion easier. Confirm your pipe is Class 3 or Class 6 LDPE before ordering – this fitting is not intended for PVC pressure pipe or HDPE pipe. For irrigation use, a poly pipe clamp over each barbed end is recommended to maintain connection integrity under sustained pressure.
